Dear Volunteer,

If you are one of those who love discovering new places and meeting new people, we want to invite you to participate in our six months project in Cultural Center in Chobienia. The activity starts on March 2008. ( The EI vel is 2007 – PL – 92)

Chobienia is a village in the Rudna municipality in the North part of Lower Silesia region. It lies on the left riverside of Odra and it is one of the historical places in Poland. It is situated next to the big city Lubin which provide to the volunteer attractive cultural life and many sorts of amusements.

Tasks:

1. You will get to know different art techniques (art classes), billiards rules, table tennis, volleyball (different sports classes), draughts and chess and you will get know methods of working with children and youth.

2. You will prepare a short guide for foreigners about Chobienia. You will be asked to collect the information about local culture, history and people who lived in Chobienia and write some articles about it.

3. You will get to know life of local community of a small village and learn local, Polish traditions, which are much more popular in the villages like Chobienia than in big agglomerations.

4. You will help to organize concerts, exhibitions, picnics, contests and many other events. You will be also involved in preparation of various workshops (art, photography, dance, chess).

5. You will have also many opportunities to promote your country and culture during different events (cultural, sport, social).

Special needs:

We are open to host volunteers with less opportunities.
