EVS project at Messzelátó Association, Budapest, Hungary

Messzelátó Egyesület would like to host 2 long term volunteers from September 2012 for one year.
We would prefer volunteers who speak proper English and/or Hungarian.

Application process:

- Fill in our form.
- (Re)send us your updated CV to evs (at) messzelato (dot) hu with your full name in the file name, like this: firstname_familyname_CV.doc. In the subject of your e-mail please write: “EVS Messzelátó 2012”!
- Please send your references as well. (Samples of your amateur or professional work if you have some: pictures, blog, writing, video, anything you made). Also put your name in the document's title! (Like: firstname_familyname_reference1.pdf)

Application deadline: 01.03.2012.
Selection will hopefully be made by 01.04.2012.

We have 2 volunteer placements open:

1. Volunteer placement: Communication/Social media volunteer

He/she will be responsible for the content of the organisation's webpage/Facebook page/green newsletter and blog writing, will help in office administrational work and support our coordinator in planning and realising green communication campaigns.

Our ideal candidate would have the following characteristics:

• creative and open for green solutions!
• good working knowledge of Adobe products (Photoshop/Illustrator/InDesign/Premiere)
• good writing skills
• good communication skills
• experience of writing blogs, open to learn new media solutions
• good working knowledge of using Excel/Word
• good English
• some knowledge or strong willing to learn Hungarian to an intermediate level (your work would need good knowledge of Hungarian)

2. Volunteer placement: „Event supporter volunteer”

He/she will be responsible for assisting in the organisation of on-going workshops and the educational projects of the association, making new workshops related to sustainable urban living. She/he will participate in our educational program that includes giving lectures and training in environmental fields.

The volunteer will also be included in the Association's work and will also have the possibility to join the other projects of Messzelátó of which further details can be found on the above mentioned webpages.
Our ideal candidate would have the following characteristics:

• creative and open for green soultions!
• be a good teamworker
• have creative skills - means being open to all kind of handicrafts (sewing, drawing, constructing from other materials)
• be interested in healthy cooking
• have experience with gardening
• liking and willing to work with children/ youngsters and/or elderly people
• good working knowledge of Adobe products (Photoshop/Illustrator/Indesign/Premiere)
• good writing skills
• good communication skills
• good English
• some knowledge or strong willing to learn Hungarian to an intermediate level (your work would need a good knowledge of Hungarian)

The chosen volunteers should be able to develop project ideas and coordinate his/her own projects. They should be available for EVS for one year starting from September. It is an advantage if you have experience in this field and if you are good in computer graphics (if you can edit website or brochures by using Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign or other relevant programs).

It is advantage if you can organize projects on your own, if you know much about community media, if you can write newsletters and articles.
We would be very happy if you are fond of gardening and hiking.
