Messzelátó Egyesület

Hello everyone!

My name is Bradley Horton, and I am the new intern for Messzelato for the summer months of 2009. I’m here because of the Bard-CEU summer internship program which set me up with Messzelato, since I am interested in environmental activism but I don’t know much about what it means to be “Green.” Messzelato deals with many of the other Green NGO’s in and around Budapest, so this is the best opportunity I have to get to know these NGO’s better and to explore Budapest! I’m originally from south-east Michigan in the United States, about an hour outside of Detroit in a little city called Troy. I used to work with dogs in a kennel and horses in a small stable. I love animals very much and at one time wanted to be a zoologist. I’m very interested in political science and international relations now, though, and I hope my time in Budapest with Messzelato will give me a better understanding of Eastern and Central European life and their outlook on environmentalism.

In my spare time I like to listen to music, mostly rock music and classical, go out with friends to nice cafes or bars, build models, go to zoos or horse stables, write, and exercise when I can.
