The EVS project is a really good experience and a useful youth program, I will recommend EVS to all my friends. Because, you can learn how you can live by yourself and discover some parts of you. By living in community, with flatmates or not, by being confronted to some difficult situations and being happy to manage to find the solution by yourself...

My project wasn't exactly the one for which I applied at the beginning but anyway, I tried to take every opportunities, I learnt a lot about environment, and in many other topics, met news people from everywhere, shared very good experiences...

I wanted to take this very good opportunity to go abroad and have a new experience in a domain that is not completely unknown for me (environment). I finished my studies last year and I wanted to have this experience before finding a job.

I lived in a house where I had my own room and I shared the kitchen, the bathroom and the garden with swimming pool with the host family and with Andrea, my Italian volunteer colleague. It was very good but I lived quite far from the city centre (work place, shops and bars !) which forced me to travel a lot. But it was a nice place, quiet and next to the forest.

My hosting organization (Messzelato Egyesulet), before my arrival, looked like very serious and involved in this youth program. Indeed, every times I sent them emails, they answered me rapidly and in a concrete way. It was very reassuring. They were all the time present for me during my volunteering service. If I had a problem they managed to resolve it.

My most difficult period during my staying was at the end of the summer, when some volunteers left and when all the crazy summer feelings in the air left, as well. I felt a bit alone, as my flatmate, Andrea also went home.

But during the whole EVS project, there were some good days with and some days without. Because I was missing my family and my friends in France. But, I think, to feel better, I just have to think about the present, and how lucky I am to be in Hungary, sharing good moments, enjoy the present time, and think about what useful things you can do today!

My best memory from my EVS project was when my family came to visit me during the Summer. They got an insight in my life in Budapest. I was proud to show them how I lived and what I knew about Budapest and Hungary.

My worse memory from my EVS project was when I sometimes felt very lonely in some discussions when everybody was speaking hungarian.

My relationship with the local community, in Budapest (2 millions people :-) ) was quite good because almost everybody could speak english. Furthermore, I took some hungarian courses which helped me a lot to learn basic hungarian and make simple sentences... My hungarian lessons were very useful at the beginning in order to learn basic sentences. I found very interesting to learn this language, but I have to admit that after 6 months in Budapest, I am not able to have a conversation in Hungarian.

During my EVS time, I met a lot of people, some from the EVS club organized by the Hungarian National Agency (Mobilitás), organized some parties and travels around Hungary.
