Climate protection

We woke for a cold, rainy day in the morning of November 9. And this only got colder moreover wetter, especially when we had been holding the banner of the Climate protection for a longer period in front of the Parliament at the Kossuth square.

Here the Hungarian Conservationist Association and its partner organizations - along with Messzelato Association - built the map of Hungary out of wooden mosaics. The "country" was constructed to draw the attention to the urgent steps against the climate change.

At the same place the 10-point-petition - which was worked out in the favour of aiding the National Climate Change Strategy - was given to the president of the parliament and the minister of water and environmental protection.

The points contained the necessity of the consuming habits' change and the reduction of energy consumption, the need of the renewable energies (sun and wind, not biomass) and the adequate information-giving service.

We hope the demands will affect the parliament to make proper decisions during the discussion of the strategy.

Hereby we thank to our international volunteers for their heroic participation meanwhile getting soggy and frozey!
