First days
The internet is quite slow here, so I have to be short. The weather is very nice, much better than in Hungary. Usually it is around 28 C, in the morning around 18, I have to put on a pullover then. There are almost no mosquitos, other insects are rare, too. There are some big cockroaches, but they do not bother us. We sleep in one room with Daniel - my German tandem, which has not door but a curtain. Only the smallest children come to the room sometimes, so we have some privacy. The food is eatable, bread for the morning, poso (kind of pasta) - with beans or with manioka or with something for lunch and dinner. The landscape is nice, little hills, banana and palm trees everwhere. It seems that all Uganda is a big village, at least I have not seen any natural places around. The birds are quite different, there are marabus instead of crews in the cities, and in the village there are some interesting birds which I have to still investigate.
The school does not work very well, the teachers do not seem very motivated to teach. The books are quite stupid sometimes, for example in the science subject there is a chapter for keeping rabbits (there are no rabbits around) and one other is about the family, which explains the role of the father (earn money) and the mother (cook, take care of the family members). The children are very shy, they do not really interact, just copy what you write on the blackboard.
Kampala is even more chaotic than Cairo, there is a continuous traffic jam, and lots of people everywhere. Sometimes it is difficult even to cross a place.
