Here you can download a lessonplan in ENGLISH, ROMANIAN, SLOVAKIAN how to realize a Land Art lesson. It could fit in several places in the curriculum in the school year.

We used this to the International Land Art Contest in this year in the region of Central-Eastern Europe with collaboration with www.350.org.

A group of international activists set off from Budapest and the surrounding area to celebrate International Water Day in Vác, a pretty market town 30 minutes away.

The plan was to help Danube protecting NGO, Göncöl Szövetség, in making a channel from the Danube to a near-by lake to improve water quality and create spawning ground for fish. We also needed to move fallen trees which caused problems when the area flooded. Everyone worked hard all day, only stopping for a ‘bring and share picnic.’

The 15th of October was the day of the Compost building for Messzelátó Egyesület!

We went to an eco-school in Békásmegyer with Ági and the other volunteers of Messzelátó Egyesület (Marlene and Benjamin from France, Helle from Estonia and David from Portugal) to build three compost bins: one in a wooden frame and the two others in grid frames. We built the compost bins with the help of the 17-year-old children of the school. They were learning French, so they could improve a bit this language during this building session.

The trip: I took the plane Budapest-Istanbul on Sunday morning; the trip only took around 1.4 hours. We spent all the afternoon in Istanbul but I didn’t see any of the city monuments only people in the streets showing their support to the attack of Turkish army to PKK positions on the east of the country. It was also interesting to see so many big flags everywhere. At night we took the 12 hours bus to Antalya; we crossed the entire Anatolian peninsula from near the Black Sea till near the Mediterranean Sea. Before we took the final bus to Olympus, our final destination, we stayed all the afternoon in Antalya; we did a little bit of sightseeing, admiring the old town, the beautiful landscape of mountains combined with the very beautiful sea. Here we also saw people demonstrating the support to the Turkish government. We arrived in Olympus in the middle of the night and with no notion where I was because I had slept the entire trip.

The place

From the 10th to the 24th of June, Marlene, David and me took part in a workcamp in Bulgaria. The village where we were living is called Shtit. It is a small village with about 170 inhabitants. The important town nearby Shtit is Svilengrad (population: 20 000), situated near the Greek-Turkish border.

2007. március elején indult útjára az Alkotó Mozi elnevezésű újszerű filmklub, mely kéthetente – egészen június végéig – tartotta foglalkozásait Piliscsabán a Pázmány Péter Katolikus Egyetem Iosephinum kollégiumában. Alaptémánk a „Jelen-jövő” volt. A találkozókon ezen belül különböző témák kerültek terítékre, melyeket a hozzájuk választott filmek és különféle interaktív feladatok és játékok segítségével próbáltunk körbejárni.

Még egyetem közben gondolkoztam, hogyan is szerezzek tapasztalatot külföldön azzal együtt, hogy önkénteskedem is. Ezért aztán kerestem és a Google megmondta a varázsszót: EVS. Aztán a kötelező lépések: küldő szervezet, fogadó szervezet, projekt keresése. Küldő szervezetnek olyan pesti, vagy pest megyei szervezetet kerestem, ami inkább környezetvédelemmel foglalkozik és hát így jött a Messzelátó. A beadási határidő előtt egy héttel hívtam fel Csabát, a Messzelátó ősatyját (először magáztam is), hogy kiküldenének-e.

Az idei nyár júniusát és júliusát Portugáliában töltöttem egy rövidtávú EVS programon. Maga a projekt nem igazán környezetvédelem témájú volt (vitorlázó világbajnokság), de az ok ami miatt választottam maga Portugália. Tavaly decemberben írták ki a pályázatot, és én akkor már tudtam, hogy március elsejétől érkezik hozzánk David, portugál önkéntesünk és én leszek a mentora.

Július végén a Messzelátó nyolc tagja ismét ifjúsági cserén vett részt. Ez alkalommal a festői Montseny Nemzeti Park szélén fekvő forrásvizeiről híres hegyi falucskában, Viladrauban, töltöttünk egy hetet. A programon Spanyolország, Lengyelország, Törökország, és Magyarország fiataljai vettek részt, melynek fő témája az újrahasznosítás volt.

Június utolsó hetében szervezetünk hat tagja a Törökország délkeleti részén fekvő ősi városkában, Kilisben ifjúsági cserén vett részt. Négy ország fiataljai voltak még jelen a projektben – Moldova, Észtország, Azerbajdzsán, Törökország – melynek támája a kultúrális örökség védelme, valamint a fotográfia volt.
