Activities

Current activities:

  • Tábor-hegy nature trail: In the Óbuda part of the capital, on the area of Tábor-hegy we build a nature trail on a tourist route. This Guckler nature trail would represent some basic infos about the area and the nearby occuring plant species. Firstly we put 9 signs indicating the local tree species (which was sadly already destroyed). However, we plan to redecorate the trail with new signs and guide some school groups there starting already in spring time.
  • South Somogy eco-touristic map: We produce a map about the Southern part of Somogy county mainly focusing on natural values. We would like to print out the map in 1500 copies very soon.
  • Dinamo project: We built a human power driven bike-like machine which is also suitable for energy production. With this machine we participated in summer festivals promoting renewable energy.

We would like to illustrate with the machine that the amount of energy is limited and the production of it results in the overwhelming of the environment. For this very reason:

    - we have to make some efforts to save energy and to use it efficiently
    - the use of renewable energies.

Apart from this machine we show some additional every day-used objects, such as solar battery charger, which use renewable energy to work.

  • Excursions: every second or third week we organize excursions around the capital, where we can explore the natural values of the area.

Previous activities:

  • North Somogy eco-touristic map: This map was produced about the area bordered by Balatonszentgyörgy, Segesd, Kaposmérő, Ordacsehi in Somogy county. The map was printed in 1500 copies and can be bought in the bookstores of Líra and Lant and more places in Somogy. Furthermore they can be fond in the libraries of the area’s settlements. In the competition of the Fine Hungarian Map it obtained a special price.
  • Petesmalom nature trail: In 2004 we opened our nature trail containing six signs which represents the fauna of the area. The nature trail is regularly checked and amended.
  • Lake Baikal expeditions: In 2001 and 2003 we organised two 4-week-long expeditions to the Baikal lake, where we mapped the natural values of the area and helped the local national park monitoring the local bird fauna.
